Wednesday, November 13, 2013 is World Kindness Day. In honor of this special day, I’ve collected a few quotes to share with you. The counselor at my school shared this video clip with me and I want to pass it along.
That best portion of a man’s life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.~ William Wordsworth
You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Whether one believes in a religion or not, and whether one believes in rebirth or not, there isn’t anyone who doesn’t appreciate kindness and compassion.~Dalai Lama
Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution.~Kahlil Gibran
A kind word is like a spring day.~Russian Proverb
Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness.~Seneca
really inspiring words 🙂
Thank you very much!
Acts of kindness are necessary for us every day of our lives. Great post Elaine. I love all the quotes as these are great words of wisdom.
Thank you, Samina! I’m glad you like the quotes.
Kindness is so important, it is a great post to remind people, Annie
Thank you, Annie.
So much kindness has been shown with the recent tragedy in the Philippines. Truly inspiring. Till now co-workers and friends are doing whatever they can to help. Now there’s tornado in Illinois. In moments of darkness, kindness is a light of hope for so many.
Thanks for your comments. You and your family are models of kindness. I admire what you guys are doing for the people of the Philippines.
Lovely – the first one’s my favourite x
Thank you, Gemma!

Pay it forward! Let the random acts of kindness begin …
Thanks for the visit! Yes, let’s pay it forward.
Great quotes, Elaine! Every day should be World Kindness Day!
Thanks, Jill. I agree with you:-)
Such a wonderful reminder and here’s to hoping every day people are kind.
The world will be so much nicer with daily kindness, TBM.
Thanks so much! It does help to have the reminder, even though I agree with Pauline that we shouldn’t need one. The quotes are lovely and I have re-blogged this. ~ Linne
Kindness ought to be a constant in our lives. I’m glad you like the quotes. Thanks again for sharing my post.
Reblogged this on A Random Harvest and commented:
On the heels of Remembrance Day and the super typhoon’s devastation, World Kindness Day is a welcome respite. Thanks to fingerprintwriting for the original post. Let’s each do two acts of kindness tomorrow. Pass it on . . . ~ Linne
Thanks for reblogging this post, Linne!
Lovely quotes and nice to see the children being encouraged to notice the kindness of others!
Personally though, I think it is very sad that we need to have a ‘World Kindness Day’ – after all, should we not be kind to each other every day? Life is so much nicer and surprisingly easier when you are kind – as you well know 🙂
It also seems a bit odd to me that even while wars are waged such a thing is mooted – but I wonder if that is just me being crotchety and not at all kind :-{
I am pleased that you are there, encouraging us all on however! Big hug to you!!
Pauline, you are not being crotchety at all!:) I also feel that we don’t need a specific day set aside to be kind. We ought to live our lives infused with acts of kindness, not only to others, but to ourselves first. Hugs for you too!
Quite so!
Please pop over to my blog for a quick visit 🙂
i love this
Thanks!
