Clean your Computer Day

Did you know that the second Monday in the month of February is designated National Clean Out Your Computer Day? I did not. I heard about this recently and decided to do the “google search” and true enough, I found the information. Well, you and I know that not everything on the Internet is accurate, however, having an annual clean up for the computer makes sense. Now, for all the computer savvy folks out there, please take pity on the poor souls who didn’t know about this day.

My dear readers, February 9th is the second Monday of February, so do take note that Clean Your Computer Day is tomorrow.

Here’s my admission: I have scores and scores of e-mails and files that have become nothing but clutter. I know that I’ve got to delete, yet I procrastinate.

Here’s my declaration: I will start the decluttering today.

Here’s what I hope won’t happen: I hope that I don’t clean out too much and then have to worry about recovering!

Do you need to clean up and declutter?

  1. Thank you for sharing this. I got tons of emails and clean up too. I’d been telling myself to clean my iPhone pictures too and just keep the ones that needs to be kept in my main computer. So, far my iPhone is saying, not enough storage. Have a great weekend. God bless.

    • I’m still cleaning up, KB. I have to make it a habit to delete often. I have a friend who has taken off a week from the Internet, I can only imagine what her in-box will look like when she signs back onπŸ˜€

  2. Wow! When I read Dan’s total, I almost didn’t reply. I was feeling so happy to delete 119.
“Kept mail” is my weakness, and of those 119 I deleted, 28 I had to print out in hard copies because I might use them later. But I’ve given myself until the end of the month to “use them or lose them.”

  3. I clean out the files and unwanted programs in my computer regularly. With that said though, I’m constantly forgetting to clean it physically. I have no idea how many dust bunnies are lurking around and clinging to the mother board. I think that last time I looked in there was over 5 years ago. Yep, the CPU is that old despite having Windows 8.1 and the like for software. I did dust off my keyboard three weeks ago. Way too long ago seeing that I have 3 cats. :/

    • Once I deleted my flight confirmation e-mail in error (I had booked way in advance) and it put me into a panic for a wee bit. I did have the presence of mind to go to the deleted box and retrieve it. Lucky me! πŸ™‚

Best wishes with your U.S travel plans!

  4. I deleted over 2,500 old emails on Friday. Not that I knew about this designation, but because my inbox had gotten out of hand. I won’t mention how many more I have, but it’s is a lot.
